Get ready to roll at the Tim Burrill Youth Development Jiu Jitsu Tournament!

When: Saturday, March 7, 2026

Time: 12pm to 5pm EST (Doors open at 11:30 am)

Location: Whaling City Athletic Club, 436 Broad Street, New London, CT 06320

Cost: $40 Entry Fee for each competitor, $10 Spectator Fee.

Gi or No Gi: This is a Gi tournament.

ABOUT THIS TOURNAMENT

This tournament is targeted at beginner and first-time competitors, ages 4-13. This is tournament is round-robin format, with three-minute rounds. Each competitor is guaranteed at least two matches.

This tournament is named after Tim Burrill, founder of Tim Burrill Brazilian Jiu itsu (BJJ) in Rhode Island. Tim is a well-respected black belt and known as one of Carlos Machado's early black belts from Texas, who later moved to Rhode Island. He's spent many years sharing his extensive knowledge and philosophy through teaching and interviews and considered a significant figure in spreading BJJ.
